Bond is a simple local-multiplayer game that focuses on a subtle but strong narrative. 2 players who are connected by a line have to collect orbs whilst evading enemies that roam around.

Weaving Mechanics into the Narrative
As a game that is focused on subtle narrative, I desired to tell the narrative without dialogues. Thus, I thought of mechanics that depicted a subtle hint towards the narrative. For example, the line connecting the players represents the bond between players. Thus when players stray too far from each other, or is cut by the enemy, the bond is broken between them and thus ends the game.

Game Feel with a Purpose
With very little mechanics, I gave more attention to the VFX and feel of the game for players. Including more sound design, as well as smooth camera movements instead of just following the players directly.
This made the movement and feel of the game much more "floaty" as if in space. This is also purposefully done as I wanted to infer this feeling as the vulnerability of bonds between souls.
